Midsummer Madness

Midsummer Madness is an adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare, where the setting has been modernised to 21st century LA, with characters reflecting people throughout the music industry, with original songs throughout the 2 act show. Nick Bottom and the other mechanicals were reflective of rap artists starting out and trying to break into the industry, so our songs were inspired by Lin-Manuel Miranda musicals, with fast paced rap verses and catchy hooks. It was a bright and colourful production that reimagined the story to include queer characters, singing and dancing and commentary on the hierarchical structure of the music industry aligning with the nature of aristocracy.
